OUR CLASSES

IMPROV INTERMEDIATE COMEDY CLASS

Intermediate Improv: 6 sessions – Thursdays @ 5:30 – 7:30 pm, May 23, 30, June 6, 13, 20, 27

If you’ve had some improv training or a lot, this class is for you. We do drills and exercises, yes, but the main emphasis is on improv scenes. Must have some prior training to quality for enrollment. Student enrollment is kept to minimum so each participant gets lots of “stage time.”

Graduation Show 7th session on a Weekend Night

IMPROV BEGINNER COMEDY CLASS

Beginner Improv: 6 sessions – August 19- September 23 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. 

Learn all the basics of performing improv comedy with the OC Crazies playbook. Drills, games, exercises are all part of this class, along with an introduction to some of the rules and tools of improv comedy. Class size is limited so our students have more stage time and personalized attention. Graduation show immediately following the last class or on a weekend night.

Crazies bootcamp Workshop

Class is held Monday through Friday – July 8 – 12 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Our Crazies workshop is a crazie experience for those who just want to hone their skills and/or find a high-charged creativity experience to release all that energy! We will work on improv drills, scenes, and some characters. Join Now! + A Showcase performance to Follow!

intermediate standup Comedy Class

Beginner Course: 6 Sessions – Mondays @5-7pm starting May 23 – June 24

Take your standup routine to the next level with this Crazie class!  Learn to punch up your set–both content and delivery, though emphasis is in pushing your brand and unique style and making sure every line you deliver packs a punch!! Thia Crazies course will challenge your creativity, generating new ideas to smooth  out what you’ve already written or help you “stretch” and expand on what you already have. The class will also put heavy emphasis on your delivery, giving you techniques for a more sophisticated and hard-hitting delivery style. Lots of fun in this class while we also study the work of well-known comics.

The Orange County Crazies offers classes in Improv, Stand-up, Sketch Comedy, and Workshops on how to develop Original Characters as well as workshop on filmmaking. The Orange County Crazies also offer Tween and Teen classes, as well as comedy writing classes. Courses range from weekly sessions to one-day weekend classes, and one-week classes. Graduation performances follow each class series. The OC Crazies conduct all classes and shows on-site at The De Pietro Performance Center in Santa Ana in its 78-seat, black-box theater.

Over the past 34 years, the Orange County Crazies has become an enviable institution as it remains the longest-running and most prominent organization of its kind in the County of Orange. Based in Santa Ana, California, the O.C. Crazies school and the quality of its classes are unmatched, and the student performances are crowd-pleasing. The organization was founded by Cherie Kerr, a founding member of the famed L.A. Groundlings, who has served as the organization’s Artistic Director since the non-profit comedy organization’s inception.  Since its inception, the Crazies has garnered stellar reviews and numerous awards for its original and creative works, as well as for its unparalleled school of comedy.
